Christmas!

It's two days from now. I haven't made my dad's present. Or figured out what I'm doing for my brother. Or finished my generic extended family gifts.

In other news, I have written 2 connected stories for you guys for Christmas. I'm debating whether or not to write more. Regardless or whether or not I write more before Christmas, my holiday starts at 2pm tomorrow. I don't go back until the 4th, so I have quite a bit of time in which to write. I'm rather excited. Speaking of which, my Irish keyboard-pal, whose FF username is Tessa27, and I are going to write a Christmas-inspired something. We're going to try and collaborate so that we can eventually collaborate on something bigger. At least, that's my super-secret-only-not-anymore plan. Whatever. I'm a wee bit tired, and I start saying things that I may or may not have intended to say in the first place when that is the case.

I don't think the second half of that sentence made any sense because I feel like I fell asleep in the centre.

So, in the near future (like quite possibly tomorrow, as I am my normal impatient self and just want these bloody things out already, screw waiting until Christmas/Christmas Eve) you should see two connected fics, one titled "Luna" and the other titled "Christmas".

I'm also thinking of putting up a new chapter of RAST and/or FMM for the holidays, and possibly writing something for one or more of my other fandoms that's just short and sweet and Christmas-y.

Primeval

I've been meaning to write this post since Monday and keep forgetting.

Anyway, from Saturday to Monday I managed to watch all, and I do mean all three series, completely, of Primeval. It's brilliant, and I love the character relationships one hell of a lot. The chemistry between Andrew Lee Potts and Hannah Spearritt is just so incredibly brilliant, as Connor and Abby, that it really came as no surprised that the actors are engaged. I'm sorely tempted to write something for them, but I'm also afraid nothing I think of will do them any sort of justice. Oh well. I have an idea for a large Primeval fic, which sort of rectifies their incorrect interpretation of time and puts a 'me' in the midst of everything. Granted, she's actually Abby and Connor's granddaughter, and I'm at a loss for what to name her (some variant of 'hope'? or 'saviour'?). But she's pretty damn awesome, and is basically what I want to be doing in the midst of the Primeverse: travelling through the anomalies, knowing exactly what the hell's going on, being a manipulative teenager who everyone assumes is older than she is because she's manipulative and knowledgeable, and related to the two best characters.

Alright, that's all -- basically an explanation for why there won't be much Whoniverse-obsessing at the moment.

Name update: I've been simultaneously looking up names on Behind the Name (use that website way too much), and I'm leading towards some variant of the name 'Nada', which means 'hope' in Slavic and 'generosity' or 'dew' in Arabic.

More One-Shots!

I may be going a bit overboard with the Alice one-shots. I just wrote two more in 750 words. I have an idea for one more story, that at the moment looks like a long one-shot or possibly a three-part (or so) story. I'm leaning towards the longer one-shot at the moment, but it does depend upon what the OC that I'd need for it is like.

I've uploaded both of the two I just wrote, as well as a 100-word drabble I wrote, well, technically two nights ago (it is after midnight). They'll be added to the one-shots list in a moment. Scarfer (the drabble) is a Doctor Who/Alice mini-crossover that is just plain odd. But then again, that's most of my stories. :D

New One-Shots!

"Strawberries" has been uploaded. It's in the one-shots section to the left. Also, I put up "Dreamland", which is a character-development piece on Anna Harpwell (remember her?). It's in the same section.

Hope you enjoy them!

Fangirlocity

So, my obsessive fangirl self hasn't had anything to be happy over in a really long time. It's left me without a sense of purpose in my life (which is really sad, I know). It caused me to make two pieces of flair on FB that are very simple but identify with what I was feeling. One says "Fangirls are people too -- we just care more about other peoples' lives than our own" and the other says "Fanfiction authors are just fangirls who pretend they have lives".

Both are so incredibly true.

Anyway, the whole reason I'm making this post is because I recently watched Syfy's Alice, which was brilliant. I had the biggest character crush that I've had on any character in a while on the Hatter from about, well, three minutes after we saw him. He's brilliant. On the other hand, I utterly despised Alice, but that's beside the point. I wrote a cute little scene between them about strawberries. It's going up as soon as it's typed up. The good news? You don't have to have seen the movies to get it! Just understand the basic premise.
