Christmas!

It's two days from now. I haven't made my dad's present. Or figured out what I'm doing for my brother. Or finished my generic extended family gifts.

In other news, I have written 2 connected stories for you guys for Christmas. I'm debating whether or not to write more. Regardless or whether or not I write more before Christmas, my holiday starts at 2pm tomorrow. I don't go back until the 4th, so I have quite a bit of time in which to write. I'm rather excited. Speaking of which, my Irish keyboard-pal, whose FF username is Tessa27, and I are going to write a Christmas-inspired something. We're going to try and collaborate so that we can eventually collaborate on something bigger. At least, that's my super-secret-only-not-anymore plan. Whatever. I'm a wee bit tired, and I start saying things that I may or may not have intended to say in the first place when that is the case.

I don't think the second half of that sentence made any sense because I feel like I fell asleep in the centre.

So, in the near future (like quite possibly tomorrow, as I am my normal impatient self and just want these bloody things out already, screw waiting until Christmas/Christmas Eve) you should see two connected fics, one titled "Luna" and the other titled "Christmas".

I'm also thinking of putting up a new chapter of RAST and/or FMM for the holidays, and possibly writing something for one or more of my other fandoms that's just short and sweet and Christmas-y.

Primeval

I've been meaning to write this post since Monday and keep forgetting.

Anyway, from Saturday to Monday I managed to watch all, and I do mean all three series, completely, of Primeval. It's brilliant, and I love the character relationships one hell of a lot. The chemistry between Andrew Lee Potts and Hannah Spearritt is just so incredibly brilliant, as Connor and Abby, that it really came as no surprised that the actors are engaged. I'm sorely tempted to write something for them, but I'm also afraid nothing I think of will do them any sort of justice. Oh well. I have an idea for a large Primeval fic, which sort of rectifies their incorrect interpretation of time and puts a 'me' in the midst of everything. Granted, she's actually Abby and Connor's granddaughter, and I'm at a loss for what to name her (some variant of 'hope'? or 'saviour'?). But she's pretty damn awesome, and is basically what I want to be doing in the midst of the Primeverse: travelling through the anomalies, knowing exactly what the hell's going on, being a manipulative teenager who everyone assumes is older than she is because she's manipulative and knowledgeable, and related to the two best characters.

Alright, that's all -- basically an explanation for why there won't be much Whoniverse-obsessing at the moment.

Name update: I've been simultaneously looking up names on Behind the Name (use that website way too much), and I'm leading towards some variant of the name 'Nada', which means 'hope' in Slavic and 'generosity' or 'dew' in Arabic.

More One-Shots!

I may be going a bit overboard with the Alice one-shots. I just wrote two more in 750 words. I have an idea for one more story, that at the moment looks like a long one-shot or possibly a three-part (or so) story. I'm leaning towards the longer one-shot at the moment, but it does depend upon what the OC that I'd need for it is like.

I've uploaded both of the two I just wrote, as well as a 100-word drabble I wrote, well, technically two nights ago (it is after midnight). They'll be added to the one-shots list in a moment. Scarfer (the drabble) is a Doctor Who/Alice mini-crossover that is just plain odd. But then again, that's most of my stories. :D

New One-Shots!

"Strawberries" has been uploaded. It's in the one-shots section to the left. Also, I put up "Dreamland", which is a character-development piece on Anna Harpwell (remember her?). It's in the same section.

Hope you enjoy them!

Fangirlocity

So, my obsessive fangirl self hasn't had anything to be happy over in a really long time. It's left me without a sense of purpose in my life (which is really sad, I know). It caused me to make two pieces of flair on FB that are very simple but identify with what I was feeling. One says "Fangirls are people too -- we just care more about other peoples' lives than our own" and the other says "Fanfiction authors are just fangirls who pretend they have lives".

Both are so incredibly true.

Anyway, the whole reason I'm making this post is because I recently watched Syfy's Alice, which was brilliant. I had the biggest character crush that I've had on any character in a while on the Hatter from about, well, three minutes after we saw him. He's brilliant. On the other hand, I utterly despised Alice, but that's beside the point. I wrote a cute little scene between them about strawberries. It's going up as soon as it's typed up. The good news? You don't have to have seen the movies to get it! Just understand the basic premise.

FMM Update!

That's right, I've uploaded 3 new chapters to FMM. I also thought of this brilliant idea that I put all of FMM into one big document and put it on my flash drive in case I ever want it. Which basically means that now I can add another drabble to FMM wherever I am, so long as I have my flashdrive.

Yay! That's a good thing! I can update it more frequently now. Except that I am once again completely out of inspiration.

Summary of the Updates

As you can now see, none of the old sections remain. I have three new sections, and they're all for fanfiction. The top category is (finished) fanfiction that I'm proud of. I like a lot of my writing, but this is what I really love.

Next come the One-Shots and One-Shots Collections category. As is included in the title, the collections have an asterisk after their name, so as to differentiate. 10 Song Shuffle is the only exception to the rule, as it consists of 10 not-even-drabbles. The asterisk also denotes that it may be updated some time in the future. As you can see by this section, I write mostly one-shots or collections thereof. I find them easier to write for some reason.

Last but not least comes the small number of multi-chaptered fics that I've finished. There are three there, and only one that I'm at all proud of. The other ones are just silly and make no sense.

That is a summary of the updates. It's something like twenty past eleven here, and I'm tired, and am running, somehow, on five hours of sleep. I'm going to bed now. Goodnight.

A Couple Updates

As you may have noticed, by the time you're reading this, I've updated a couple of the widgets to the left there. I decided that my list of fandoms and fandom-like things were really rather unimportant, so I just bumped up my completed fanfiction and got rid of the fandoms list. I've also updated the poems and completed fanfiction sections so that they're actually up-to-date.

DUH

I forgot what I REALLY attempted to write the last post about. Somethings's been eating all my thinking cells. Oh well. Anyway.

After watching The Empty Child and then The Doctor Dances and the Boom Town, well, actually in the midst of watching Boom Town, I had a brilliant idea for a story. I have a summary already, but no actual story. The summary is basically to remind me where I'm going with the story, in case I forget. I've taken to starting to write fanfiction like that. If I have a good title, I'll give the thing a title, and then a summary right under the title, and then go on to the actual fanfiction.

And, as this is Doctor Who/Torchwood fanfiction, it is all in Bookman Old Style font, size 10, 1.15 spacing (Word 2007), and UK English (my current brain spellings).

Anyway, I've got the summary for you (and title):
Tribophysical Waveform Macro-Kinetic Extrapolator
If it was "way beyond her," where did Margaret Blaine get the trans-dimensional surfboard that sparked the events of Boom Town?

I'm actually rather proud of the idea behind it. I don't think the summary remotely gives away my brilliant idea that came totally out of left field (and from a certain voice who INSISTS on talking to me and providing me with lovely mental pictures, exactly when I don't want them).

Right, sorry 'bout that...

*pulls a Ten back-of-the-neck scratch* Yeah, I forgot to tell you, it's being stupid and won't let me edit the overall HTML like I want to, so there won't be a new format. Sorry!

In other news, I have a semi-English accent stuck in my brain, which is a slight bit odd, that sounded really odd, I think because I want to say 'wee bit' instead but that just sounds wierd. But what I really wanted to say was that yesterday I listened to all of the Torchwood radio plays yesterday (oops the accent's gone) and watched/listened to The Empty Child, The Doctor Dances, and Boom Town. My poor little head was rather exploding with the combination of all that new Whoniverse stuff and lots of Jack, who normally lives inside my head and keeps me company sometimes but had recently taken a rather bizarre hiatus. He has now returned and I am no longer lonely.

As you can see, for some reason I decided to put labels on this post.

Re-vamp!

Hey! So, I know I haven't really been around lately. Sorry! Anyway, I'm thinking that the blog needs a revamp. I'll look around and see what I can do to make it better. So, you'll probably see a changed blog by the time I post again. And there'll probably be a lot more stuff on here. Yay!

Oct 7, 2009

Oops

I haven't updated this thing in a while. I'm thinking that maybe I should.

So, anyway, life's pretty good. 10th grade is leaving me with some time to write, but also with an inspiration to go in new directions. I've rectified one of the old Mary Sues I created in The Daughter No-One Knew, I have an amazing total of 27 stories uploaded to FF, and I'm thinking about revamping my FP account so that it mirrors my FF account's revisions more. Or at least the revisions of the homepage and story format.

If I do that, which I probably will, the stories currently up there will come down, and be re-posted. Anyway, the version of 'Strange' that I have up there isn't the correct version (I've revised the beginning again). Some new stuff will probably go up, and I have quite a few new poems I can put up.

While I've been away, I've for some reason decided to start spelling everything the UK way. Ergo, you'll probably see a lot of things spelled 'wrong' -- or correctly, for any of you who use the UK spellings -- in here from now on. Disregard this, it's just me being me.

On my FF profile, I have a slightly more up-to-date news section.

Aug 13, 2009

FF misses me!

Well, it missed me, anyway. I was away from it completely for a good six days or something, and look what happened! There was, umm... a "backlog" of... something that caused them not to be displayed in a "timely fashion."

Yup, the people at FF really talk like that. Apparently. XD Anyway, I was around for about 24 hrs... really less... but I'm gone again, this time again prolly no internet. Sigh. Well, away for two days, back for less than 24 hrs again, then absolutely no chance of internet access for at least 5 days, maybe six.

Lucky me.

Good News and Bad News

The good news: I have inspiration for a story that I can't decide whether is humorous or incredibly not but that explains why Jack wears that coat all the time.

The bad news: I'm going away and will have limited internet access.

The good news: I actually will have internet access and will occasionally check my email and will write some of this brilliant idea that I have.

The bad news: I won't be posting anything until I get back, probably about two weeks from today.

The good news: I'll probably have a lot to post when I do.

The bad news: I'm going away again right after that, the Sunday after I get back.

The good news: it's only for five days this time.

The bad news: I won't have any internet access whatsoever until I get back, on Friday, and will probably be to tired to put anything up until Saturday.

The good news: I'm going to be a CIT at the camp where I thought up the original NADCT (which was a failure), and last year proved to be interesting inspiration for another story I never wrote. Ergo, I will probably come back with some amazing story idea(s).

The bad news: I will probably have gone insane from lack of unlimited internet access, meaning no Doctor Who stuffed into my head in ridiculous quantities and no one as insane as I am to talk to about absolutely nothing and how much we hate but don't hate RTD for doing everything he's done to us (the devoted fans).

The good news: I've run out of things to say. So you don't have to listen to me ramble anymore.

Torchwood 3, Meet TORCHWOOD

I'm working on it again. And it's the wierdest thing. It's been so long since I've written a story without really any idea of the plot. But I'm working on this one like that. I have no bloody idea where the hell this story is going. Well, I have an end. And I have one other thing I need to accomplish before I get to the end, but other than that, I'm just writing. It's so... wierd. I really haven't written a story that's not a one-shot without planning out the plot in a while. It works a lot better when I plan out the plot, obviously. I don't have to worry about things like forgetting things or making sure all the plot bits line up when I've planned out the story. But this one, I'm really just going on writing from where I leave off every time and it's quite wierd but I happen to like it very much even if I have no bloody idea where it's headed or how or why.

$50 poorer but 4 books happier

So, guess what I found in Borders yesterday? Torchwood and Doctor Who books. I spent $50 -- well, my dad agreed to pay for half of them, so I only spent $25 -- and got three Doctor Who books and one Torchwood book.

The Doctor Who books are "The Stone Rose", "The Resurrection Casket", and "The Nightmare of Black Island". The Torchwood one is "Almost Perfect". And it is bloody brilliant. I've gotten halfway through it already, and I spent last night with a friend who came over and then slept over who's another Who fan but hasn't watched all of Torchwood so I can't really talk to her about them yet but she is so I'll be able to soon. When she gets to Children of Earth, which should be soon, I'm going to go over and watch them with her. It will be amazing. And this afternoon I hung out with a different friend who hasn't even heard of Torchwood or Doctor Who but is extremely into Harry Potter. So I've been in an extremely Harry Potter mindset, so much so that we went and created this huge family tree ish thing. And I made sure that Lucy Weasley, Percy's daughter, who we decided -- well, she had the idea and once she said it I couldn't help but agree -- has three kids who all have Welsh names. 'Cause she moves to Wales 'cause she's married to Fleur's sister Gabrielle's son Ty.

Duh.

And I have tried my very, very hardest not to make it too obvious how much I'm biding my time and waiting for a Torchwood/Harry Potter crossover to come out of my head, but the guy's the Head of the Welsh Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office.

At least I didn't make him work for Torchwood 3.

Ways back into Torchwood

So, we know that Torchwood is dead. Or basically dead. But there's tons -- millions -- billions -- of ways back into it. Ways to get Jack back (the Doctor), ways to get Ianto back (the Kiss of Life), ways to rebuild a team (Lois).

Or, of course, RTD could pull one of the things he's so famous for and come totally out of left field but rebuild everything perfectly.

Or not.

But there's one of these that I want to talk about in particular. The way to get Ianto back. We all saw it, right? All of us. That after Ianto... died... Jack kissed him. On the lips. And... if I know anything at all about RTD, he wouldn't put something in there like that for no reason. Maybe it was just something John Barrowman thought of on the spur of the moment, but if so... It fits perfectly. Too perfectly. I don't think it could be an accident, not after all we've seen throughout Torchwood and Doctor Who. He wouldn't plant the opportunity to come back with something perfect like "the Kiss of Life" for no reason. I mean: in the first episode of Season 2, he foreshadowed the season finale. If that's not foreshadowing, evidence-planting brilliance, nothing is. Well, that and -- if you don't mind my going over to Doctor Who -- in the third episode ever of Doctor Who, he planted seeds for "the Darkness".

With an actress who would become Gwen Cooper, no less...

Anyway, I'm convinced that's not just a coincidence. I'm not convinced that anything around anything RTD has done is a coincidence anymore. Not the banana truck that caused traffic delays somewhere relatively near me. Not the random facts that keep lining up around me, they're too wierd to just be a coincidence. Not the (broken?) fob watch that my mum -- err, mom -- has somewhere.

None of it's a coincidence. It's too perfect to be coincidental.

Torchwood Angst

The angst is building up in my head and it's going to make me explode.

At the moment, I'm labeling it as Torchwood angst. Or it's labeling itself as Torchwood angst? I don't know, don't care, not really. I'm just accepting all of this angst that's piling up. I'm trying to think about it, trying to get a way into something that'll let all my angst out. A Torchwood fic -- a strange one, mind you, and bloody depressing -- is planning itself in my mind. But now it's (not too) late, and my dad's making me go to sleep.

I shall go watch something without any angst in it whatsoever but all the goodness of the Whoniverse and see if that fixes it or just shoves it deeper into my mind (which it probably will).

You shall almost definitely see something extremely angst and with something that looks like a ray of hope but is really just the true weight of Jack's predicament at the end. (That was a note to myself, really, so that I remember this idea -- but I'm going to record it somewhere else, don't worry.)

I feel loved

I was extremely proud of myself when I checked my fanfiction email account and discovered 21 unread emails. It made me feel very loved. Sure, more than half of them were all from one person, but it was still nice. And I feel like I should go look at the number of reviews I've gotten on FMM, 'cause it's probably up to a lot by now. In other news, I've been working diligently on T3MT, that story I mentioned in an earlier post. I've almost got up through chapter two written, but I think I'll write out the whole thing before I post it, just so I can post it super quick. And so that I know that I've at least gone over it once and it doesn't need any on-the-fly editing type things.

So. Just here to say thank you for making me feel appreciated and loved and yada yada, I love you all.

New Story!

Yeah. I'm just that cool.

I thought of another Torchwood story. Actually, at the moment, I'm not working on it. I'm doing research, trying to acclimate myself to Cardiff a bit better and getting much too specific with the accents of my characters. Don't ask. You'll see soon enough, once I've gotten this thing uploaded, of course.

I would be writing, but I'm also listening to the Shrek soundtrack while I'm doing research, 'cause I had "Hallelujah" stuck in my head, so now I have to listen to the whole CD. And it's not that bad. The only thing is, I can't write while listening to music for some reason.

Hey, want a preview? I've got one. I'm going to tell you now, it's a humorous thing, even though I've written it quite seriously. It's just proving to be fun to write.

Okay. Preview time.
Title: Torchwood 3, Meet TORCHWOOD
Description: Strange things happen when you play with alien tech you don't understand. Traveling to Wales and meeting your heroes is just one possibility. Helping them solve an alien mystery comes as an added bonus.
Excerpt: (couldn't resist giving you the first bit)

“Jack, I’m recording some strange rift activity,” Toshiko Sato informed her boss over the comms. Two miles away, in one of the dark alleyways that the team of Torchwood 3 had come to expect them in, Captain Jack Harkness was hunting Weevil.

“Tosh, I’m a bit busy at the moment!” he answered, dodging the creature as it lunged at him. He was never, ever, going to take a full can of Weevil spray for granted again.

“When I say strange,” the Japanese woman went on, “I mean really–”

“Jack! Behind you!” Gwen Cooper, second-in-command, called out as she arrive on the scene. Too late. The second creature lunged at Jack tore into his neck, having the indecency to give him a very bloody death. Suddenly, Owen Harper, the team’s medic, hit the thing in the back of the head with a metal beam he’d found lying in the alley. As that one fell forward, Gwen remembered the can of Weevil spray she’d shoved into the coat she was wearing and used it to stop the other one. “Good shot,” she told Owen.

“Thanks,” he answered. Regaining their breath, they looked down to their boss. With a start, he harshly breathed life back into his lungs.

“Jack? Gwen? Owen? You alright?” Tosh’s voice filtered over the comm system. Jack sat up.

“What was that you were saying about unusual rift activity, Tosh?” he asked.

“It’s gone now, but there was a strange blip on the system. I’m not even sure it was rift activity, except that it was picked up by our rift monitors. Assuming it was rift activity, four things came through the rift. Nothing alive. They came through just outside of the range of CCTV, unfortunately, so I can’t see what they are. Thankfully, the signal’s still good, so I’m watching it. What’s weird is what the Torchwood database is recalling about an energy signature the things are giving off. You might want to come in to see this.”

“We’ll head back. See you in a few.” Jack switched off his comm and bent down to investigate the damage done to the Weevils. He back turned to his two partners. “What did you do to this one, hit it in the head with a crowbar?”

So, you think you'll like? I'm having a little too much fun with it already, and I've only gone through 2 more parts of roughly that size.

456

I had the freaking SCARIEST thing happen to me earlier, what was technically yesterday.

So, I was about to go out to spend the whole day with my family (yay fun -- note the dripping sarcasm). I of course picked up my phone before I left. It's been on silent for the past couple days 'cause I've been at camp and I keep it on me and I don't want to scare the horses when I'm riding. Anywho, I looked at the front screen of the phone. It told me I had a new text message. So I flipped it open. It said "1 new message from 456".

I literally dropped the phone and would have broken the thing had I not been standing over my bed, and freaked out.

Like I don't have enough stuff in my life trying to tell me that there's some major conspiracy involving me and the Doctor Who/Torchwood world.

Ahh!

Strange ... fandom thing

So. I was looking at someone's profile on FanFiction, and came across this funny little thing. Originally, it was just supposed to be for TV Show characters, but I expanded it a little, 'cause I wanted to go with my first impulses in the character department.

Randomly list 12 characters from your favourite TV show(s):

1 – Harry Potter

2 – Ron Weasley

3 – 10th Doctor

4 – Rose Tyler

5 – Captain Jack Harkness

6 – Captain Jack Sparrow

7 – Elizabeth Turner/Swann

8 – Sirius Black

9 – Regulus Black

10 – Lily Potter

11 – Martha Jones

12– Gwen Cooper

1.Have you ever read a 6/11 fic?

(Jack Sparrow/Martha) Umm... no. But I think it might be interesting if I did. 'Specially after HP turned out to be just a book. XD

2.Do you think 4 is hot? How hot?

(Rose) Completely f---ing hot! Hah. Well, she could be prettier, but then she wouldn't work in a shop, so the Doctor wouldn't've come to her rescue, so she wouldn't be known to us. So, yeah, she could be hotter, but I like her the way she is.

3.What would happen if 12 got 8 pregnant?

(Gwen got Sirius pregnant) HAH! That would be a laugh... I mean, if it was Jack, I'd at least see it plausible... or another girl... Or, you know, there might be something Sirius has never told us...

4.Can you recall any fics about 9?

(Regulus) YES! I love him. I've read one OC/Reg shipper fic. Even wrote one! And am in the process of writing another. He's such a lovely dark character that we don't know everything about, unlike Malfoy.

5.Would 2 and 6 make a good couple?

(Ron and Jack Sparrow) Hmm. Wait, let me really think about this. I think Jack would try, but Ron would be very... eww about the whole thing.

6. 5/9 or 5/10? Why?

(Jack Harkness/Regulus or Jack Harkness/Lily) Ooo... There's a question... Both? They'd both work wonderfully. I kinda feel like Jack/Lily would work a bit better, though.

7.What would happen if 7 walked in on 2 and 12 having sex?

(Lizzie on Ron & Gwen) Umm... she's probably be scarred for life, as would I.

8.Make a summary for a 3/10 fic.

(10th Doctor/Lily) Uhoh... um... I know! "She'd thought that falling for James Potter was stupid enough, but what about a man who changed his face?"

9.Is there such thing as 1/8 fluff?

(Harry/Sirius) There probably is. I mean, it's one fandom, so I wouldn't put it past them, even if it's... puke-your-guts-out worth.

10.Suggest a title for a 7/12 comfort fic.

(Lizzie/Gwen) Damn, this is gonna take some thought... How come I can think of a good description for one?? Okay, fine. "Satisfaction in the Strange"

11.What kind of plot would you use for 4 to deflower 1?

(Rose to deflower Harry) Let's see, something like... OH! This is a bit cheap, but the sex-alien inhabits her. Easy peasy.

12.Does anyone on your friends list read 3 het?

(10th Doctor) I wouldn't be surprised, almost, except that I have absolutely no idea what anyone I talk to reads, sorry. Except the stuff I refer to them.

13.Do any of your friends write/draw 11?

(Martha) Write, yes. Draw? I dunno.

14.Would anyone of your friends list write 2/4/5?

(Ron/Rose/Jack Harkness) I highly doubt it. I really highly doubt it.

15.What might 10 scream at a moment of great passion?

(Lily) I have honestly no idea. I don't know how she ended up on this list; she's quite random and I don't know her very well.

16. If you wrote a songfic about 8, what song would you choose?

(Sirius) That's a good question... something on the depressingly angry side of MCR... like "Mama", probably.

17. If you wrote a 1/6/12 fic, what would the warning be?

(Harry/Jack Sparrow/Gwen)... Well, personally, it would be run screaming.

18.What might be a good pick-up line for 10 to use on 2?

(Lily on Ron) Please, please, do not make me think that, that just scares me, thank you.

19.When was the last time you read a fic about 5?

(Jack Harkness) Right before I started this thing. I'm still in the middle of it, actually.

20.What is 6’s super secret kink?

(Jack Sparrow) Umm... You know, huh. Well, I don't think anything's worthy of being a "super secret kink" with him, so I dunno, I'd honestly have to think about that when I've got access to all my brain cells.

21.Would 11 shag 9? Drunk or sober?

(Martha shag Regulus) Hmm. That's another good question. I almost feel like she's too much of a good girl to do it sober, but I wouldn't put it past her drunk.

22.If 3 and 7 get together, who tops?

(10th Doctor and Lizzie) Hmm, I say they'd have an intellectual battle over it, so that would mean the Doctor would win.

23."(1) and (9) are in a happy relationship until (9) runs off with (4). (1), brokenhearted, has a hot one-night stand with (11) and a brief unhappy affair with (12), then follows the wise advice of (5) and finds true love with (3). " What title would you give this fic?

"Harry and Regulus are in a happy relationship until Regulus runs off with Rose. Harry, brokenhearted, has a hot one-night stand with Martha and a brief unhappy affair with Gwen, then follows the wise advice of Jack Harkness and finds true love with the 10th Doctor." That would be have to called something like ... "Love: According to Immortals" Eh, that only gets the second half. "Impossible Love" works a bit better.

24.How would you feel if 7/8 was canon?

(Lizzie/Sirius) A little shocked, seeing as they're from different fandoms. And, cause Lizzie has two other ships she sails on. But I'd feel happy, to some degree, for Sirius.

Okay. That was fun, if... extremely odd.

Anyone want me to write any of those fics?

Busy... again..

As you can probably see, I've been fairly busy recently.

I've been working on one-shots and making the stuff I've already uploaded that's not crack!fics look more put-together. I've also been re-inspired -- probably by the hopelessness of how the Children of Earth specials left us Torchwood fans -- to work on my original stuff. I've come back to stuff I've already written, and am actually thinking about putting some of my stuff up on FictionPress. I've got a fair amount of stuff saved on my computer or written down in places all over the place that some people out there might like to read. The only problems is, I've only finished one... one-shot-length thing, and the rest of the stuff I'd give up on before I finish it.

Oh well. So much for that idea, then. I guess what I'm really here to say is, I'm running out of Doctor Who and Torchwood inspiration, so quick! Someone help me! :D

Children of Earth

WARNING: Spoilers for the Torchwood 5-Day "Children of Earth" special.

The bloody thing KILLED me.

First of all, how the hell is Jack just giving up still in character? And I mean really. Sure, he forced into working for Torchwood, but I still get the impression that by 1965, he developed a bit more of a heart. And this is children we're talking about here.

And, Davies, did you really have to go and make it even worse, go and make Jack look like even more of a bastard that you already made him seem? Did you have to make them -- children -- drugs?!?

*sigh*

And killing off Ianto? That killed me. That actually put me over the edge. I was sobbing, absolutely sobbing, when I first watched that. Still can't even think about the bloody thing without at least stopping and thinking about how futile life is.

Or something like that.

So, instead of being at least content that RTD ended the show well, I am fed up and pissed off and intend to shoot Jack in the head a couple times over the first time I meet him.

That'll take a bit of explanation.

Gwys vs. Gwack

Or, Gwen/Rhys versus Gwen/Jack.

Now. Gwys is canon. Gwack isn't totally canon, but it's ... more romantic than Gwys. Hence it being more shipped. The only problem with this situation -- the battle within me between Gwys and Gwack -- is that I am such an avid Janto shipper. Sure, this isn't a problem, 'cause it's not about Jack but about Gwen. And Ianto's dead anyway (*sobs her heart out*).

But canon Gwen's chosen Rhys, at least to the extent of... being married to him. See, I think she sees all this as just one big muddled mess of confusion. She's married to Rhys, but she won't... admit to her attraction to Jack, which makes Gwack quite... confusing. As I explained to my one friend, (and allude to -- well, I outright SAY the Gwen bit -- in my new fic that's going up soon) Gwen wants to kid herself into believing that she just loves Jack as a brother, but Jack's just Jack.

So I'm in inner turmoil, in the bits of my brain that are devoted to Torchwood and not screaming out at the injustice that is Ianto's death, as to which one prevails. Or maybe neither do.

Maybe Jack's just a bastard who up and leaves.

Conspiracy involving me??

Okay. I'm f---ing fed up with Davies at the moment. I'm convinced it's all his fault all of this is happening -- he restarted Doctor Who and created Torchwood which have jointly prompted my conviction that there's a conspiracy centering around me.

So, this conspiracy thing. I don't know when I began half-believing it, but some time this summer I did. And everywhere I go (practically), every third thing I do, every other article I read, simply reinforces this belief.

Proof of a conspiracy surrounding me/Things I've noticed or stumbled across that are a wee bit too suspicious to disregard:
  • My mom claims to have a fob watch at her school. No chain, just the watch. I want it really fucking badly, only she can't get into the school (I think) and she probably wouldn't want to waste her time getting it for me. But there's a fob watch, and I feel like she told me it's broken, or at least never implied that it works. Either way, there's a fob watch, waiting for me to discover it and open it.
  • This past year, I've been having more... "epiphanies" about how life is ridiculously futile. Maybe that's just growing up, maybe it's a result of watching these types of shows that say there's more than just this, maybe there's a reason behind it. Whatever the cause, I've recently become obsessed with looking for meaning in this futile thing we call life, that no matter what we achieve we never really get anywhere.
  • Some facts of the Doctor Who/Torchwood world have stuck in my brain. Not just crazy obsessed fan things, but odd little things. The Master's tapping would be an example of a crazy obsessed fan thing that I do that's just fun. But the other stuff would include stuff like paying too much attention to things like the Vashta Nerada in the sunlight. And in one episode of Torchwood, Jack explained something about how we (humans) give off emotional energy. So like when you feel like someone's watching you, or you catch someone outta the corner of your eye? That actually happens and it's real, really there. And since that episode, I can't shake the feeling that either there's someone right behind me -- like looking over my shoulder close -- or there's something on my back (but it's more like the former).
  • I stumbled across this article. I swear to goddess it was not on purpose. But anywho, it's about this British girl who gets implanted with a second heart. A SECOND HEART! She had it for eleven years, too. And I've figured out why the Doctor has two hearts: (this is quoted in the article)"The heart apparently has major regenerative powers." And guess where she lives? F---ing Cardiff!
WHAT THE HELL MESSAGE AM I TRYING TO BE SENT? I don't get it! Davies, you need to get a wee bit clearer.

And someone might wanna tell me why I've started saying "a wee bit" instead of "a little" or "a bit".

Another insert-yourself, Doctor Who/Torchwood Style

I can't resist. I really can't. Especially when I get brilliant... ish... ideas like this one at camp. What is it about my camp, anyway? Right well, I really don't have a plot or anything, just an idea. Just a scene or two, planned out in my head. And a basic idea of where it all starts, which might provide me with a way into something bigger and better and totally awesome. It involves, rather unintentionally (so unintentionally that I didn't notice it until I just thought about it right now), Jack/me (I mean what else am I going to call her? "OC" just doesn't seem to fit; I didn't create her, I just explained myself and out came her -- although she is a future me, so would that make it Jack/future me? Or wait, even better, she's a parallel future me, so does that make it Jack/parallel future me? Or do I just sorta stop bothering somewhere along the way and decide that I really shouldn't work on this until I've seen all of the Torchwood that's currently out (which somehow seems like a good idea, so I can know as much as possible about Jack).

On another note, I really have to figure out what it is about my camp that makes me keep coming to the conclusion that I'm going to travel with the Doctor (or at least meet him) and someone, be it Rose or Jack or Martha or Donna or someone, preferably either of the first two 'cause they're the bestest, but I can live without them (although if I have the opportunity to, I'll demand to be taken to meet them... or at least Jack... 'cause I won't know how much of this stuff that I know from the series will be true and when exactly we'll (I'll?) wind up).

I'm going bloody insane

So, first off, ever since that episode where Jack says something about... well, how whenever you feel like something's there, outta the corner of your eye, it really is. Ever since I heard that, I've been having a ridiculous feeling like there's someone right behind me, even though there's not -- or is there? It keeps bothering me, and I don't know, but I wish whoever was following me around -- if someone is -- would just grow up and tell me somehow; I don't like all this secrecy.

Secondly, I'm scaring myself by half-convincing myself that Torchwood/Doctor Who are real. Or that maybe they're not exactly real, but the general idea is real. And somehow they're -- well, the writers but mostly Davies -- are -- is? -- trying to contact me. To tell me something deathly important. Only problem is, I have no idea what that deathly important thing is. And I don't know how to find out. But real life keeps on reminding me of Doctor Who or Torchwood, more reminding me of Doctor Who but stuff from Torchwood acting like it's real (like the someone behind me thing). I don't know what to think anymore but I'm terrified, and I really want my mum to get that dumb fob watch she has in her class room and give it to me and I'll open it. I swear! I'll open it and it'll all be fine and dandy. (I'm not kidding, either. She says she has a fob watch with no chain in her classroom. I want it badly.)

That is all. Back to the wonder that is Torchwood. (How the hell do they manage to be so f---ing hilarious when the world's gonna end practically ever episode?)

What happens when you shove lots of Torchwood into my Doctor Who brain

It kinda goes crazy.

Well, not so much. Just that Jack joins the Doctor up there in my TARDIS of a brain, and of course being Jack he brings all sorts of ... nice things -- images -- into my head. 'Specially at times like this, when I'm specifically thinking about him and the Doctor... alone... in my head (that's the TARDIS) -- SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP! I will not let you do that. It's still my brain and I still have the final say, even if you're controlling it and JACK GET THE F--- OUT OF THERE! And -- you have really pretty eyes...

Okay, sorry. But that's a little snippet of what my internal dialog is like at the moment. Interesting, huh? I hope Jack stops screwing with my mind soon.

Why must I think of a brilliant title for this?

My brain has turned to mush.

I've watched 8 episodes of Torchwood in one day and spent much too much time obsessing over how John Barrowman has the prettiest eyes and somehow, his American accent has turned the Doctor in my head back into David Tennant with his Scottish accent.

Don't ask me how these things work, I don't know. I don't even try to know. I just accept them, move on, and keep watching Torchwood until I pass out or my computer turns out to be so freaking slow that I just give up and go to my bed and channel Doctor Who into my brain and then pass out.

At the moment it seems like that second option is going to happen, although somehow doing what I thought would slow it down actually speeded up the internet. Sped up? Well, anyway, this one tab of Firefox was loading a lot faster than I expected it to but the last bit of "They (Just) Keep Killing Suzie" is loading way too slowly for my liking. Is there a "Just" in there or not, does anyone know?

Anywho, I don't think I said this, but last night I started one sort of... could-be-on-going-if-you-people-give-me-more-inspiration-for-it Doctor Who fanfic project, figured out some backstory of my Monster Goo fanfic-plot, worked on BHD some more, and wrote another little thing. This isn't counting the ah... "Things Left Unsaid" that I uploaded last night. This is just telling you of stuff I wrote and is currently saved on my computer and hidden from the view of the internet.

I'm going to go see how much more Torchwood has loaded and watch it and then sleep. 'Night.

More dumbness

I watched the end of Journey's End without needed to.

Well, I got what I needed from it, even though what I really needed was like... Umm... I actually have no idea what that episode's called. No, wait, it's Doomsday. DUH! Sorry, I'm a little... not functioning in the brain department today.

So I watched the end of JE again, got depressed, and am now trying to write stuff that's super angsty Rose/Human Doctor. Should be fun, no?

Dumb things I do

Being the genius that I am, I don't notice really obvious shortcuts.

I only just RIGHT NOW noticed that on FanFiction.net, when you're uploading a story, you don't have to find the category through all the options after you've uploaded one thing into it. I have no idea what I thought that drop-down menu was for before, but obviously not that.

I feel really stupid.

In other news, I was talking to a fellow author and I got some inspiration for BHD. Well, was given some inspiration, that was sorta then bounced off ideas that have been playing around in my head by my brain (which is actually a TARDIS).

So now I'm writing about the Doctor going shoe shopping.

Forgetful old me

I had something brilliant I was going to write a post on before I searched for monster goo, but I promptly forgot it. And I can't find where I recorded the story of the monster goo! Oh well, I can remember it pretty well.

Anywho, I just got to thinking that maybe I'd like to write a strange little something about... well, about the hassles of being time-traveling humans instead of Time Lord(s). And 'cause we know of course that it doesn't make any sense whatsoever that (I just completely forgot my train of thought right there.... OH YEAH) Rose and the Doctor would travel forever(ish) in the TARDIS that's a real TARDIS, not a parallel one, and be all totally in love, and not you know like... have kids. So, I'm getting to thinking. 3/4 human, 1/4 Time Lord kids. I'm excited. I want something cool to be done with that, whether by me, another fan, or the actual BBC (extremely unlikely seeing as I have inside sources who have informed me they have through series 6 planned out. I wanted to submit an episode but I can't). Mostly likely a fan. As I said in that parenthetical bit. Sorry, my brain's malfunctioning a bit. I have absolutely no idea why.

On a note totally unrelated to anything I'm mentioned even today in my earlier post, tomorrow is the Horse Wedding at my camp. It's horseback-riding day camp. Yes, two horses are getting married. Phil and Sybil. Or Cybil? I dunno how to spell her name. Anywho, (how come that's not a word? Is it actually a word and all my spell-checkers are just retarded? Or is it really not a word? If so, why not?) they're getting married tomorrow. I'm riding a horse named Pongo, who's a groomsman. (If you're wondering why I'm acting in a guy's place, the simplest explanation is that there is only one guy at camp who is the Best Man (don't ask me why he's not the groom) (actually, I have a pretty good idea why not, you might be able to guess what that'd be implying)(actually, that was brought up by his sister who said he and a certain girl should get married, for the reason that their getting married implies)(is that clear enough for you?)(is this enough parenthetical sentences next to each other for you?)(why are these rhetorical questions popping up?)(that one wasn't).) And my cousin and her daughter who's almost 3 are coming.

That is all the updates in my life right now. Actually, that's not true; I think I'm going to work on planning out the plot of the Goo Monster, maybe thinking of a title for this fanfic (I mean, "The Goo Monster" is sorta... lame. It deserves something brilliant considering all the brilliance it contains. The problem is, I don't know if I'll be able to think of anything at all more brillianter than that, but if I do, you shall know. Y'all shall know. Which sounds incredibly retarded but so what?)

Anywho... goodnight.

Too Many Hands on My Hands

That's a euphemism for being confused by trying to multi-task. I think it failed when it left my brain, though.

Anywho, I'm doing a lot of stuff. Attempting to watch Classic Who. (I'm in the beginning of what is officially Part 3 of "The Monster of Peladon", but is part 7 to me because of the time limit of videos on the website where I'm watching it, if anyone cares.) I'm trying to download Torchwood episodes so I can watch them, so I can be up-to-date. I'm trying to write my Rose/Human Doctor fic, but it keeps hitting road blocks -- or writer's blocks -- in the next part. I keep writing later stuff that I don't need right now. I need a transitionary chapter or two and I could just about be done. Well, not quite, but close.

On the other hand, I'm inspired to write a "simple" Doctor Who fanfic, that's more like an episode. Because of this, I want to talk to my penpal who writes shows in Hollywood and see what she knows about possibly submitting episodes for TV shows. But either way, I almost feel like I should write it into a fanfic first, just so I get completely familiar with the plot. The good news is, I've thought of a name for the race of the goo monster: Noxtoopul. Noxtoopul class A, to be precise. (It's from a bizarre vanity plate, if you're wondering.)

On another hand, I want to write some original stuff, because recently I've been thinking "big picture" and thinking I want to get some stuff published, maybe make it easier to get stuff published that'll actually bring me money. 'Cause I've been deciding things at camp these past two weeks. It's wierd. It's like... camp is when I make all my life decisions. Wierd, I know.

Anywho, I'll tell you if/when I actually commit to anything. Which might take some time yet.

How to tell when even MY crazy brain is messed up

So I'm reading fanfiction. Some really awesome stuff, all Doctor Who, by... Avorialair, I think? Maybe. Something like that, anyway. It's all... well, it's all Doctor/Rose stuff, mostly Nine/Rose, a bit of Ten/Rose though, which is what I'm reading now. They're both good and they both work because they DO both work.

Anywho, even I can tell that I'm going crazy because I just high-fived my monitor. For a... Imagination something-or-other. I can't remember what the word is. But this awesomest thing ever. And I totally shoulda called that, but I didn't.

So, anyway, my brain's totally messed up. Like more than usual. Like I actually went and told my mom about the time I convinced myself my bathroom was going to transport me into the past. (Looooooong story. Well, kinda not. Anywho...) And, apparently, she has a fob watch. At school (She's a teacher). That has no chain. And, apparently, doesn't work.
Suspicious, much?!?

Busy busy busy

Well. As you can tell by the title, I've been busy. Only thing is, I've been busy reading fanfics and watching old-ish Doctor Who (from nearly the end of the 3rd Doctor, but I haven't gotten far, only through about two of the multi-episode story-arcs -- I slept over at a friend's house last night so I forget where I was). Oh, and going to camp. And, of course, working on my big big big Doctor Who fanfic. This one is the one with the sappy title, the first chapter of which I've uploaded. Speaking of which, I should get back to working on the second chapter, so I can upload it for the folks that have read the first chapter.

Anywho, the real reason I wrote this post is mostly as a memo to myself, but also to you guys. I hadn't known about the deleted scene in which the Human Doctor and Rose get a piece of TARDIS-coral to grow a new TARDIS from Journey's End when I made my parallel TARDIS. Ergo, it doesn't make much sense with a real TARDIS, but I'm trying to make it work. I'm tempted to write a story about Rose and the (Human) Doctor and their TARDIS, but I dunno if I will. We'll see, huh?

So basically this is a big excuse for writing but not uploading anything. Sorry, guys, but if I write a one-shot-type-thing, I promise I'll upload it.

Jun 30, 2009

Woot! Something else Doctor Who!

Yeah. I'm writing something else. This is a bit more epic -- ie, it's not just one part. It sorta has a plot, but not entirely. Well, okay, it has a plot. It's just that it demonstrates said plot rather... strangely. I dunno. It's wierd, because it's me taking one of my... how do I put this... "thought-processes" one-shots -- where I basically look at a scene through (usually only) one character's eyes... or more specifically their brain. They're almost always one-shots and usually giant rambles of the thought proccesses going through such-and-such a character's head at such-andh-such a time.

Another thing that makes this one wierd is that it's in lots of parts, but the style of the different parts isn't consistent. I mean, I still write in third person past tense and distinguish between the Time Lord Doctor and the Human Doctor, because it's mostly from Rose's POV. Well, indirectly from her POV -- because he has a lot of input. And that's what the whole thing's about, actually. Rose finally accepting the Human Doctor as hers.

I'm throwing in some fun references to episodes we've seen and plots we haven't heard of at the moment. I'm currently claiming all of these plots as my own, because you know me, I'm always looking for something to write. We'll see if anything actually comes of these though. It more than likely won't. I thought long (well, not TOO long) and hard (yeah, I struggled with this and still don't even like it) about another phrase which the acronym TARDIS could stand for, and came up with one. It's not perfect, but it's also spot on (relatively -- it's still sorta forced, although if you think about it, "Time And Relative Dimensions In Space" only works for us because we're so used to it).

Anyway, that's what I'm up to at the moment. Also, it's sorta selfish of me, but I think I'm in desperate need of a beta. (Don't bother asking about the selfishness of it. I won't explain, but let's just say I'm super picky.) If someone wants to be my beta, or knows someone who can beta my stuff, feel free to comment here, PM me at FanFiction, or email me (use the email link on my FanFiction website though, not the email linked to this account).

Okay. That's all. I gotta get back to septtuple-tasking. (Email I'm in the middle of checking, 3 fanfics I'm in the middle of reading, the Next Doctor I'm in the middle of watching, and that fanfic I'm in the middle of writing.) Actually, it might be considered octuple-tasking becuase I've really got two emails I check but I only have one open at a time 'cause I'm wierd like that, and I actually have 3 more fanfics I've put on hold for a bit in that new Storymarks thing. ((which is SUPER handy. Except I managed to lose ones I had in there earlier somehow.))

Jun 28, 2009

Another One-Shot

Yeah, so I wrote another one. Only this one is Doctor Who. It's depressing but moving, like most of my one-shots are. It's on the shorter side -- just about a thousand words. But there's only so much I can write for the Doctor, even when I'm writing depressing-for-most-of-it-but-by-the-time-you've-gotten-to-the-end-somehow-you've-been-moved-or-at-least-I-know-I-have-and-this-is-MY-writing-so-that-must-be-saying-something-right? stuff. Which is brilliant for the Doctor. So, anyway, I wrote this bit for the scene in Planet of the Ood where Donna asks to hear the Oods' Song. And last night (well, okay, this morning, after I'd finished writing this at 2 in the morning), I started coming up with an idea for a Human Doctor/Rose fic, that's sorta... I dunno, it's coming off rather I-wish-you-were-the-REAL-Doctor-but-you're-not-so-let's-try-something-but-not-just-right-now-I-have-to-get-over-him-being-gone-AGAIN, at least from Rose. And the Human Doctor? He's... well, he's being I-know-I'm-not-him-and-I-know-you-know-I'm-not-him-but-I-still-love-you.
So, yeah. And this is with all of about... four lines of them interracting and twice that of remembering... Rose and the "REAL" Doctor.
I'm gonna go back to typing this stuff up and uploading it now. Have fun reading it when I'm done.

PODCAST!!

Hey, yeah, so, guess what? Me and my friend Cait are starting this podcast. It's epic. It's us rambling about nothing. The first episode's really fail, because we have no idea what we're rambling about and Cait can't ramble about herself because the Doctor in her head is broked so her TARDIS brain is broked too. Yeah. She's reading this over my shoulder and laughing. Well, like laugh-giggle-huff-ing. It's a wierd sound and I can't really describe it. So, anyway, we've got this new podcast. We've started a new blog for it -- you can find it by clicking on my blogger profile, I forget what it's called. That's a comma splice but I'm too lazy to fix it. So, yeah, that's all my news. Bye!

Random Inspiration

Hey guys! Long time no see, eh? Not that there's anyone who actually reads this, but still. Moving on.

I was in the car the other day, going to the dentist, and I heard this song on the radio. It instantly made me think of Pirates of the Caribbean, and it made me want to take up writing pirates stuff again. Specifically, it made me want to dig out my old JackOC shippings which were (and still are, I haven't edited them yet) complete and utter crap. Maybe I can take one (or all) of them and resurrect them into something at least one-shot worthy. We'll see.

For those of you who are wondering, the song is "The Captain" by Kasey Chambers. It's all I know of her -- but I'm looking into finding more of her stuff. ((I need to go to Barnes & Noble...))

Organization

Well, my FictionPress account is nice and clean. That is, the stories there look nice and are ones I actually like. I'm doing the same with my FanFiction account, or as much as I trust myself to. This means that some things (LTTLR, for example) are going to be deleted. Some stories I will keep, but replace the innards of (FLW, for example). IE, I will just put the nicer-looking versions of the chapters into the stories. I won't delete them, and I won't delete any reviews. Sounds good? Good.

I've got work to do, so bye.

Apr 11, 2009

Blah

Okay. So, my computer apparently hates me. Or, it hates my trying to write TTLT2, anyway. It keeps freezing in the middle of playing my DVD. If I can't play the DVD, I can't write TTLT2. So... HIATUS!

In the mean time, I'm going to be typing up my original story, Strange (I made another version of the beginning which I actually like), making the fanfics look nicer, and possibly working on some sane fanfics which don't require the movies.

That is all.

Apr 9, 2009

TTLT2!

That's right, there's a new adventure for Lucy Turnenbaumerumm. This time, she goes into the 2nd (and 3rd) pirates movie and screws with the plot. Noticeably.

That is all I will say about the plot of TTLT2 now.

In other news, I'm gonna go back to updating this blog. Something about actually having fanfics and junk to talk about makes it easier to update my blog that's about updating my fanfics and junk. Wierd, huh? XD

Anyway, that is all, just a little post to tell you I'm busy and going to be getting as much as I can outta my last few days of usable Spring Break. :D

Sci Fi Movies and Elves

Okay so today I spent all day watching movies on Sci Fi. Literally, I woke up at like noon, ate breakfast, and then watched 3-4 movies in a row, it depends on how you count them. And of course, somehow, watching a city get destroyed by dragons prompts me to write about my elves. I've had the idea (and developed it) that I either write about the non-royalty elves within wherever-the-Leginai-live, or write about an elf being a servant in human-land, because I sorta had the idea of teaching someone Leginai-mar (or a Leginai-mar fluent person learning English becase the Leginain of course speak Leginai-mar but that's a little too hard so I gave up on it), so I'm leaning towards the 2nd one. And actually, I sorta have a story for that. But the story I have is more of a, I-am-an-influental-and-royal-elf-who-self-banished-herself-because-the-elf-I-loved-is-dead-and-I-thought-I'd-really-rather-raise-my-baby-away-from-this-but-it-turns-out-being-with-my-fellow-Elves-is-a-slightly-better-idea-so-I'm-going-to-drag-this-human-who-looks-like-the-elf-I-loved-along-on-my-journey-back-to-Elf-land-but-he's-actually-kinda-forcing-me-to-take-him-along-but-yeah-this-is-my-story plot. And then I have to deal with a baby, or a preggers elf, or other not fun things. I think I'm going to stick to a plain old elf for some reason becoming a human royal's maid. Should be interesting, no?
